The drive
Ljubljana to Bled in forty minutes.
The route is simple enough that you will not need the navigation for most of it: the A2 motorway runs north out of Ljubljana, past Kranj, and exits at Lesce-Bled. Fifty-five kilometres, about forty minutes in normal traffic.
What changes with an electric car is the last part. The approach to Bled winds down towards the water through forest, and in a Tesla that stretch is silent — no gearbox hunting for the right ratio, no engine noise bouncing off the trees. Regenerative braking handles most of the descent on its own, and puts charge back into the battery while it does.
Range is a non-issue on this trip. The Long Range Model 3 leaves Ljubljana with 576 km available and the return journey is barely a fifth of that. Even after driving on to Vintgar gorge, Bohinj or the Vršič pass, you will come back with charge to spare.

The lake is the easy part. Getting there should be too.

Four kilometres from the lake. A boardwalk pinned to the rock above the Radovna river — about ten minutes by car from Bled.
Lake Bohinj
Half an hour further into the Triglav national park. Larger, quieter and considerably less photographed than Bled.
Kranjska Gora
Forty minutes up the Sava valley, and the start of the Vršič pass — fifty hairpins, and the best road in the country for an electric car.
Radovljica
Ten minutes back towards Ljubljana. A medieval old town most people drive past without noticing.
Kranj
Twenty minutes south, and the location of the Tesla Supercharger nearest to Bled — 30 km from Ljubljana.
Ljubljana
Forty minutes back. Easy to do Bled as a day trip and still be in the city for dinner.
Charging around Bled
You will not need it, but here it is.
Bled itself has ordinary public charging points, but with a full battery on handover most guests never plug in at all during a day trip.
The Kranj Supercharger sits directly on the route between Ljubljana and Bled, so a top-up costs you a coffee break rather than a detour. In practice a return trip to Bled uses well under a third of the battery.

How far is Bled from Ljubljana?
About 55 km, or roughly forty minutes by car. The route is almost entirely on the A2 motorway, exiting at Lesce-Bled.
Will one charge cover a day trip to Bled?
Comfortably. A return trip is about 110 km and the Long Range Model 3 has 576 km available at handover. Even with Vintgar, Bohinj and the Vršič pass added on, you will not need to charge.
Is there charging at Bled?
There are ordinary public charging points around the lake, and the nearest Tesla Supercharger is in Kranj, directly on the route from Ljubljana. In practice most guests on a day trip never plug in.
Can you deliver the car to Bled itself?
Delivery is free anywhere in Ljubljana and a flat 30€ to Ljubljana Airport. For other locations, message us with the address and we will confirm the fee the same day.
Do I need a vignette for the motorway?
Slovenian motorways require an electronic vignette, and our cars are supplied with a valid one — there is nothing for you to buy or display.
Is the drive difficult in winter?
The A2 to Bled is cleared and maintained through winter. Higher alpine roads such as the Vršič pass close seasonally. Tell us your dates and we will let you know what is open.
